Staged intimacy
JEFF A.R. JONES has been staging intimacy in conjunction with movement and combat for many years. With the codification of Theatrical Intimacy as a discipline, he began training with Intimacy Directors International (IDI) and Theatrical Intimacy Education (TIE) in 2017, then continued training with Intimacy Directors and Coordinators (IDC) and Intimacy Coordinators of Color (ICOC). He has trained with staged intimacy pioneers Tonia Sina (creator of the Intimacy for the Stage process) and Alicia Rodis (Intimacy Coordinator for HBO), two of the founders of Intimacy Directors International. He has trained with and assisted Jessica Steinrock, CEO of IDC and host of the popular TikTok channel Jessica Steinrock–Intimacy Coordinator. He has trained with Chelsea Pace, founding member of TIE and Ann James, founder of ICOC. In 2022 he founded Triangle Intimacy Lab, a space to practice the craft of staging, performing, discussing, and getting peer feedback on staged intimacy without the pressures or timeline of a production.
