Scenic Design
JEFF A.R. JONES began designing scenery for the inaugural season of Carolina Ballet in 1998, when Artistic Director Robert Weiss convinced him to make an image to use as a backdrop. Things quickly developed and he later became the company’s Resident Designer, designing both scenery and costumes. As the company and season grew, he chose to focus on scenery and stepped away from costumes. He has been Resident Designer for the company for over 25 years, designing most of their new works during that span, including Nutcracker, Firebird, Swan Lake, and Macbeth. He has also designed for North Carolina Opera, William Peace University, Elon University, and Meredith College.
